Uniform

We encourage the wearing of school uniform.  Governors, parents and staff believe that wearing school uniform helps to develop a sense of community within the school and also encourages the correct attitude to work.   Fleeces, sweatshirts and PE T-Shirts with the school logo along with book bags are available from Brigade Clothing School - Brigade Clothing, LTD.  If you require any new items of school uniform, please speak to the school office as we may have something suitable from our second-hand stock for a small donation towards the PTA funds - a great way to reduce, reuse and recycle, as well as saving money! The PTA regularly hold second-hand uniform sales, and we would encourage parents to return any good quality items of school uniform that are no longer needed, to the school office so that these can be reused.  Pupils in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM) are entitled to an annual uniform allowance of £50 - please speak to the school office in confidence for more information.

Jewellery

Should pupils choose to wear a wrist watch, this should be small in size. All jewellery including earrings must be removed for PE and swimming.  The school cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage

Please may we also draw attention to some other aspects of uniform and presentation.

  • Hair, if on the shoulder or longer, needs to be in a ponytail or similar – every day please

  • Hair styles should be neat and appropriate for a school setting – no very short grade haircuts

  • Earrings MUST be removed for PE by the child

  • Please could parents bear in mind that when toe nails or finger nails are long this presents a hazard in PE as they could tear painfully

  • No make-up including nail varnish

PLEASE LABEL all clothes items and check that your child has the correct items when they get home. This helps hugely with lost property!
