October - Black History Month

Throughout the month of October we will look at Black History and the stories of Rosa Parks and Malala Yousafzai, and how these are key figures in changing history.

We will add documents below to show the resources we have used to look at Black History Month in our Collective Worship.

Pupils looked at the life of Betty Campbell, the first female black headteacher from Wales. Betty desperately wanted to be a school teacher when she was younger, but disappointingly was told by her teacher that “the problems would insurmountable.” However, this didn't stop Betty from achieving her dream and helping to educate others about black history. Click on the link below for more information about Betty.
