Generosity

In the Autumn term we will explore the theme of generosity. We will add to the documents as we learn more about this theme. And include links below to some of the stories we use.

One of the stories that we looked at is Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson. This is a lovely story about a kind witch who keeps dropping her wand and those who help her find it. She then repays their generosity by offering them a lift on her broom. At the end the friends all save the witch from being eaten by a dragon. This story also focuses on the important value of friendship too.

We have used the story: The Smartest Giant in Town also by Julia Donaldson. This story is about a generous giant who gives away his new clothes to those in trouble. His friends then repay his kindness at the end.

The Snail and the Whale to illustrate the value of friendship and generosity.

The Rainbow fish is another story that we've used to teach friendship and generosity.

We've also used the traditional tale of The Elves and the Shoemaker to teach why it is important to be generous.
