Class 2 News

Autumn Term 2019:

We've had a lovely start back to school this term. Please click on the link below to find out what Class Two are up to this term.

Class Two's visit to Hands on Heritage

As part of our Roman topic this term Class 2 visited “Hands on Heritage”, an activity centre based in Tunstall Forest, near Snape. In small groups we took part in several workshops including weaving sheep’s wool on looms to create Roman bracelets, making and cooking flat breads on an open fire and smelting pewter to make our very own Roman amulets. The highlight was being real-life archaeologists when we helped excavate a Roman villa. We cleared away loose sand and earth to reveal all sorts of Roman artefacts ranging from pieces of pottery, oyster shells, animal bones and roof tiles. The most exciting find was the mosaic floor and the fresco which was painted on the wall of the bath house. Here are some photos of the day. Please click on the link below for photos of the day.

Summer Term 2019:

It’s been a super term with all the children in Class Two. The summer term as usual has flown by. It was great to see all of Class Two captivated by our plastic pollution topic producing some excellent group projects and junk modelling different marine life from jellyfish to tiger sharks. The class learned that it is really important to take care of our planet and one way that we can do this is to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Just some other highlights of the term include: our daily fitness challenges, our visit to Whitlingham Broad with the whole school, taking part in the Country Dancing at Kelsale, our fun and exciting Sports Day, Story time, Class Assemblies and Class Two challenges.

We look forward to more thrilling events in the Autumn Term with Mrs Merry.
