Class 2 Roman Morning

On Tuesday 21st September, Class 2 stepped back 2000 years to meet the Romans! Thanks to a very generous loan of Roman artefacts from Truro College, we were able to create our very own 'pop up' museum in our classroom. We were very excited by the jewellery and coins, some of which dated right back to 50AD. We spent time looking at pottery that would have been used by the Roman army and were able to distinguish between the rims and the bases of different vessels. One of the most spectacular pieces was a Roman crossbow brooch which would have been worn by a high ranking army officer. Many thanks to Mike Dymond for supplying this wonderful collection.
