Mental Health and Wellbeing

It is important that we all look after our mental health and wellbeing; it's what helps us to function well in our daily lives.  Here are some top tips to help you with this:

  • Eat healthily and drink plenty of water
  • Get some fresh air and exercise daily. Joe Wicks' PE lessons can be found here if you would like to have a go.
  • Learn new skills
  • Phone family and friends (ask first!) or go and visit them if you can safely.
  • Make some time for you - do something you enjoy.
  • Read, draw, write, watch your favourite TV programme or a film
  • Play with your toys
  • Relax - try some Cosmic Kids Yoga
  • If you are in Year 6 and are worried about starting High School, this lesson from BBC Daily Learning might help.
  • Talk about any concerns or worries you have to a trusted adult. Remember: a problem shared is a problem halved.

Mrs Foster has made a video about meditation. As Mrs Foster says she's not qualified or trained in meditation, but it's something she likes to do at home with her family. If you would like to have a go, you can watch this video and join in.

Below are two documents. One is Advice for dealing with worry and anxiety and may be useful for parents to support their children, particularly with returning to school. The second document is a set of instructions for making a "Worry Monster". Mrs Foster found this particularly useful with her children. We hope you find these helpful.

We have found the document "5 Ways to Wellbeing" useful in planning activities to use in school. Please do take a look and use any of the ideas yourself.

We are very excited to announced that we have made links with Handford House Nursing Home in Ipswich, where the children were able to send "Suffolk says Thanks" posters and we hope to continue to develop this link during the autumn term 2020 and beyond.  Please see our photo gallery to view the posters.
